Codeçal

Rehabilitation of a ruin in Porto historical centre. Three floors converted into five studios for students and tourism. The Baroque church in front and the Douro river below the steel bridge set the tone.

A rural hotel proposal set into the Lourinhã landscape — a low-slung composition of pavilions negotiating slope, orientation and vegetation, with quiet arrival sequences and shared communal spaces.

A 7.5 ha plot — a third of it to be occupied with housing, commerce, co-working office buildings and, most importantly, 600 beds in two student residences, close to the University of Alto Douro.

Alferes

Office and back-office building supporting the events and rural activities of a farm in Vila do Conde. Folding timber shutters along the exposed perimeter tune natural light while giving the building an ever-changing silhouette.
